New Interior for OMEGA: Delicately on the Key Point

Gint-M has completed the construction and fit-out of the OMEGA boutique in the trading house of GUM in the Red Square.

A double-story boutique of the Swiss luxury watch-maker covers about 160 sq. m in one of Moscow’s most prestigious shopping malls. Gint-M carried out a full range of construction, fit-out and MEP installation works in the client’s premises. ABD Architects was in charge of architecture, whereas RBTT was the MEP designer.

It is noteworthy that it took only one month for the project to be completed, which is unprecedented for boutiques of this level. In the words of Business Development Director Gint-M Artem Panteleev, a distinct working schedule, whereby all project stages were literally planned on a day-by-day basis, allowed the company to keep within a very tight timeline. A rather large number of location-related instructions and limitations was a challenge for the company. Thus, it was possible to work only at night, not to interfere with the mall’s operation and not to hassle its visitors. Furthermore, in view of the historical status of the facility, works had to be performed with regard for a large number of special construction regulations. For instance, it was forbidden to touch the old brickwork. Nevertheless, thanks to the relevant experience of Gint-M in the delivery of similar projects as well as a special construction permit to work with historical heritage buildings, the project was successfully brought to fruition in no time.

A high level of finishes in the boutique fully complies with the standards of the Swiss luxury watch maker – used in the interior are costly finishing materials and interior items: marble, precious wood species, etc. Furniture for the project is tailor-made. In addition to retail space, a safe zone was integrated into the interior, complying with special wall-reinforcement requirements, as well as a small back office for employees with a mini kitchen and a chill-out area.

The result is an exquisite, trendy and functional interior nicely blending with the entourage of the GUM – one of Moscow’s key landmarks.
